Brian's Bomb Scare

This has to be one of the craziest things that has happened in a while and I'm not so sure I care to see or hear of this again. So as most of you know Brian works at Transalta, a power plant in Centralia, WA. Well last night they had a bomb scare. It was not one of those fake scares where they send in machine robots and pick up the unknown bag....This was one where an employee picked up the homemade bomb and after the fact, realized that wasn't such a great idea. The bomb had been lit at some point, but difused somehow. There were no known threats so it is still a mystery about who did it and what the intentions were.

Here's a link to the story the news did on it. Propane tank bomb

Logger's Jubilee

On Saturday I went with the Fullers to the Logger's Jubilee in Morton, WA. Brian couldn't go because he was earning us money instead. Thanks for sacrificing honey! It was quite the time full of logger's competition and games. I had seen something similar on TV, but never in person and had always wanted to. We saw races with guys from all over the world with them cutting and chopping wood in various competition. Guys were running with chain saws up a tree trunk to the end and cutting off part of it and running back down. They were throwing Axes at a target trying to hit a bulls eye. We also so guys climbing a 70 or 80 ft pole and going up and down in about 19 seconds. It probably took them 16 to get up and 3 to get down. It was amazing.

They also had a Jubilee clown that climbed the 80 ft pole and did crazy stuff at the top. He stood on it, juggled, danced, and then he did a headstand on it. It was so funny because Shawna couldn't watch she was so nervous for him.

Overall it was a good day, with good entertainment, and good elephant ears and corn dogs to eat.

DJ Fulldawg in the house

On Friday, Brian was asked to DJ the Portland Boat dance again. This made it his fourth year doing it. I think he was a little nervous as his brother's weren't able to go, so he had to settle with just little inexperienced me helping :) The only other dance I had been to was the New Year's Eve dance he did down in Portland.

We ended up having his cousin Leah come to help and our friend Greg just moved here from Utah that day. He barely had unpacked the U-Haul and he was on his way with us to spend a few hours out on the boat. He really made the loading and un-loading easy. Thanks Greg!

My job was to pick out the music and Brian ran the setup and players and did a little mixing. It was a lot of fun and I have to say I didn't do too bad picking out the music. We didn't have any complaints other than we didn't have the "Tootsie Roll" and someone wanted it. I was bummed because I took my camera wanted to get some good photos of Brian doing his thing, but my batteries were dead, thus no pictures.

We were done and loaded back up by 1:30 and went to Denny's to celebrate and thank Leah and Greg for their help. On the way home, we were all so tired, we had to pull into a rest area to sleep for a few hours. We finally pulled into the Fuller household around 7:00 A.M.

Back to Utah!

Back to Utah!

Back to Utah!

Finally time for an overdue trip back to Utah! I was definitely ready to see my family and Utah again. We embarked on a 10-day vacation back to my hometown of Enterprise. We landed in Las Vegas and at midnight it was still 106 degree weather. We felt all 106 degrees coming from 75 degrees in Olympia. I'm not sure how Cory and Chanda do it! We spent a night there and showed Ariana a few sites in Vegas, than spent the rest of the time either with Hollie & Ben in St. George or Mom & Dad Holt in Enterprise. We were extremely busy the whole time. It was so much fun to see most of my family. I was able to see all my sisters and one brother while I was there. Thank you all for coming down! I sure do miss you and it meant a lot to us.

Here is a run down of our trip. We had an awesome dutchoven dinner up Pine Valley, where I fell in the creek trying to hold Rylee from falling in as we crossed a tree trunk. We went swimming at the new Washington City Rec. Center Pool, which was a lot more fun than Sand Hollow! We went and saw Les Miserables at Tuacahn. It was great and Ariana even loved it. Heidi took us four-wheeler riding to a spot overlooking my small home town. Awesome views! We also joined in the 24th festivities, watched the parade, saw the kids run the races, and put on our hats and Wranglers to attend the big Rodeo. We hiked to the Emerald Pools at Zions National Park. We also hit some big St. George sites: the new water playground in downtown Dixie, the Dinosaur Museum, the St. George Temple, and the Dixie rock overlooking St. George. I even took them by my old stomping ground "Dixie College" aka Dixie State now. Boy, do I miss that heat! Go Rebels!

American Idol baby!

So yes, I was one of the many that went to the American Idol concert at the Tacoma Dome and absolutely loved it! I was lucky enough to snab a ticket from a friend who couldn't go. I went with another lady in my Relief Society and we ended up taking five teenagers from our ward. I didn't realize I was getting so old, but being with five teenagers, I sure felt it! We had a blast and no Brooke didn't cry during the concert.....to top it all off, I was recently called to be the Laurel Advisor, which means that I will be working with most of the girls who went with me. Funny how that worked out!

Oregon Vacation at Canon Beach

We decided to take a little weekend gettaway to the beautiful Oregon Coast a few weeks ago. We had a blast. We picked Ariana up and stayed at Sarah & Dan's house for the night. Thanks guys! We got an early start the next day and hit Tillamook Cheese factory where we had great ice cream and cheese. Afterwards we went on to Canon Beach, where we played on the beach all day. We tried to fly a kite, but it was such a nice day that there was not enough wind to keep it up.. Later that night we ate at a place call Kranky Sue's, which Brian said was all for me......Not sure why :) We had a great time!

Transalta (Bri's Work)

Brian decided to give us a tour of his work where he is a supervisor over the Coal Yard. This machine was a little taller than Ariana and me. Before Brian became supervisor he actually drove this! It was fun to see and we definitely got dirty! P.S. We are standing on a huge coal pile.

Crater Lake

On the way back from Salt Lake in March, we took the scenic (long) way home. We stopped at Crater Lake, OR. I was a little nervous as the road was a little slushy in places, and as you can see the snow came up way past our vehicle. Once we got up there, it was absolutely beautiful and worth every extra mile!

Seattle Volleyball

So Brian and I played in a co-ed reverse 4's volleyball league. We had so much fun playing together we decided to sign up for a co-ed 2's grass tourneyment up in Seattle. Neither of us had played 2's before and neither of us had played grass too competively, but thought we'd give it a shot since we were both athletic. To say the least, we had know idea what we were getting into, but we learned to have fun throughout the course of the day. We came in 5th place...... Out of 5 teams in our league. If we did it again, we would definitely be a little more ready for it.

Tulip Festival

One of the first things I wanted to do in Washington was the Tulip Festival. I read about it and now living here it was something I didn't want to miss. It was the end of April and of course it snowed the night before up here, which didn't matter because it melts just as fast as it hits the ground. I was pretty determined that no matter what the weather was like we were going!

It turned out to be a cold, but fun day and the flowers were so incredible. It reminded me of my dad's corn and pumpkins fields that seem to stretch on forever, except for these fields were so beautiful and full of color. Of course I had to buy a bunch of tulips to bring home. You can't go to the Tulip Festival and not buy tulips. That would be like going to the Corn Festival and not buying corn!

Blazer's Game

With Brian's connections in the Alumni program at the University of Washington we were able to have a night out with the Blazers. We spent several hours on the Blazer court playing around, got to meet several Blazer players, and watched them play later that night. It was an all around fun time!
